Guests, we want you to commune with us here at Bethlehem Lutheran Church! Yet we also recognize that the Lord's Supper is not to be taken lightly. In fact, we take it very seriously as the Bible instructs us, especially in 1 Corinthians 11:17-30. In the Lord's Supper we receive Christ's body and blood in, with, and under bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins and the strengthening of our faith.
Communion is about unity. It is not something that is merely between God and individual Christians. Thus when we participate in the Lord's Supper, our relationships with each other matter. We should be in fellowship with one another both relationally and doctrinally.
If you believe what Christ says about His Supper and share the beliefs we have at Bethlehem, you are welcome to join us for Communion. If not, or if you are unsure, please use the time for prayer and reflection upon God's Word, and we invite you to speak with our pastor about how you can share in this wonderful gift with us.
